More SwEEtness!!

This is a Baby Shower done up with lots of SwEEts!
I love how you could use this to be for a girl or boy.
It's not a typical baby shower for sure. The reds, and sort of circus look are fun.
Check out the rest of the party at The Pleated Poppy (isn't that the coolest blog name!!) :)

Candy Party

I just LoVe candy!!!
Anytime I see someone has done a candy party, buffet or anything close to it, it goes into my saved files! :) Candy makes a party so much better as far as I'm concerned.
It's such a special treat.
AND, it is so easy to coordinate candy with your theme and color of the party.
So here's party I've saved....isn't it SwEEt!!

Cricut gets to shine!

I found this wedding at Joyful Weddings & Events and I must say that I love.....well, MANY things about this wedding, but one thing I love is the use of her cricut machine!
The flowers and numbers on the table markers, the "Mr. and Mrs.", and the confetti flowers are all made with her cricut.

These are so well done that they just look so professional. I think it is a great use of a handy machine that we (well I) sometimes limit. So this is inspiring to me. Oh...and check out the FABULOUS Candy Buffet!!!

One more

garland...that is!!
I just saw this garland on Design Mom and I HAD to share it.
It's lovely!
It is from Martha Stewart. She just does it all, doesn't she. :)

I know there are lots more fabulous garlands out there so I will share more later.

Garlands

For some reason when plan a party I usually wonder
"what can I hang from the ceiling?".
It's just one thing that has always been a big part of planning for me. So when I see some garland that I like it goes in my saved files. Here are some of my favorites.

and I love this garland....but where did I find it? :)

Lovin Paper Lanterns

We all know how popular Paper Lanterns have become.
From the white to the bright bold colors we've been using them to add a big impact on our events with a fairly low cost. I'm noticing now that we are beginning to not only use them plain, but to add different types of materials TO them to change their look a bit. I like it!
from Fig & Rubyand Martha Stewart
and mine :)
I added diamond gems to the lantern and strung large silver sequins onto fishing line from the base of the lantern.

I do like them plain too. :)
from joyful weddings and events
SO next time you want to use paper lanterns at your party...keep in mind, they are cute plain OR decorated. :)

and Hobby Lobby has a few in their spring decor.

Bridal Shower

My church hosted a couples Bridal shower this past Saturday night for my son and his fiance'.
It was SO nice.
They chose the colors of yellow, lime green a used purple pansies on the table centerpieces.
How pretty.
The food buffet was just amazing.
I have just a couple pictures to show of that and the yummy strawberries
my friend made for the night too!
First pictures shows some of the hostesses.

DIY Photo Cubes

These are just genius!
I think they'd be fabulous for any party. Great way to feature the guest of honor.

I'm hired!! :)

So I just got hired to do a rehearsal super in August and I must say I'm kinda excited!!!
One thing leads to another, you know. :)
I'm also going to be doing a surprise party soon. Fun fun!
For the rehearsal supper I am trying to come up with a theme of sorts.
This couple met from a friend and mostly got to know each other through
phone calls and the computer.
They did not "meet" till well into the friendship and once they did it was instant love.
They met in an airport.
I'd like to bring something from how they met into the decor of the tables, ect. Any ideas??

Pretty napkin rings.

One of the details that I love about a party is making the napkin ring.
It just adds so much and what a great way to add some personal detail to the party.
My co-worker just had a son who graduated from High School and I asked her if I could wrap the forks into napkins with a special little napkin ring for the Open House. She thought that would be just wonderful...but nothing girly! :)
So I had yellow forks and purple napkins (school colors) to work with.
I used white paper with black print and make a ring that said
"Congratulations Kordel".
I think the little touch made the plain napkins looks so much better....and Personal!! :)
Did I take a picture of them? nope, forgot!

Today I am showing some of my favorite napkin rings I have found or made myself.

from thedivineyou at Etsy
Some I made: I had taken a long string of pearls and tied it in knots till it was large enough to make a ring. Hot glued it together. Simple.
This is just piece of ribbon with a large sequin tied onto it. Very Simple :)

from Kara's Party Ideas
And this is not a good close up at all, but April my church served supper to about 275 farmers. We didn't have to do alot of table decor and nothing was expected of the napkins/silverware, but me being who I am, I HAD to do something!! I decided that we'd wrap the plain white silverware in the plain white napkins (they were provided) and THEN we'd tie just a bit of green raffia around each one....275-300 of them! How fun!! Well I was about the only one who thought it was a good idea. :) Some of the older generation helpers started helping with it and thought tying the raffia around the napkin was much too hard for their fingers to do (which I understood). Since I was the one who wanted it done, I sat there and did them with one other blessed helper!! I'm glad we did it. I think it added alittle something to the table. So don't let a big project scare you. It can be done.

I don't remember where I found this one, but what a cute idea!! Great for a Candy Party.
So next time you plan a party don't forget the napkins, they like attention too! :)

Almost rockstar baby theme

This shower caught my eye with it's zebra print and aqua blue colors.
Made me think of the Rockstar party I just did...humm...
rockstar baby shower, now that would be cool too.
This shower is titled
Baby Gone Wild...isn't that just the cutest? :)
You can see more pictures on Ames Castle blog.
All I can say is cute~cute~ cute! :)

Ready for a camping party??

Wouldn't this be a FUN party to do?
I've never even given this theme a thought.
But with the campfire season upon us this is perfect. :)
I found this post at The Celebration Shoppe.
They have some really fun ideas and party decor supplies.
Get out the tents and sleeping bags....smores and hot dogs and put on a party. :)
You wouldn't even really have to have an event to celebrate, just have a
backyard summer party
for the neighborhood kids or your kids school friends that they don't get to see as
often in the summer.

Do you see Donna from Party Wishes slumber party featured in here? That's her teddy bear!

Many Thanks

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has commented with such
nice words about my Rockstar Party.
It really was an awesome night. I LOVED all the planning and making it happen. I would
LOVE
to do this sort of thing for a living, but have not taken that jump in life yet.
Sometimes these things come with time.
One of the reasons I did this party and Maci's 1st Birthday party was for the experience....
and because I love those girls. :)
There are 2 more little ones birthday's coming up in August and October
so I have more planning to do.
For those of you who do party planning for a living,
I have alot of respect for you....it's alot of work!! (but also very rewarding)

Rockstar Party Pictures

LONG POST~ my daughter and niece took about 260 pictures and I am only posting a few. :)

Guest of Honor ~ My Niece Jae
Theme ~ Rock Star Glam 13th Birthday
Colors ~ Black, Hot Pink, Aqua Blue & Zebra Print

Tablescape...
Covered with faux animal print with an aqua colored sequined runner, silver chargers, black plates, pink martini glasses and zebra printed napkins.
I had wanted to order a fancy glamorous light but decided not to spend the extra money so I just decorated a plain white paper lantern with gems and hung silver sequins on fishing line from the base of it. I think it was just fine...and I saved alot of money. :)
Favor boxes filled with Pink Pop Rocks, nail polish, lip gloss, zebra print ring and barrettes.
Food ~
build your own pizza
chips and cheese
chocolate fondue with strawberries, oreos and large marshmallows
ice cream bar with LOTS of toppings
and
sweet sushi cakes
All the food went over well...I think they really liked drinking out of the pink martini glasses!

There were 4 different "stations" the girls could go to.
1 - nails {I used a coffee table for this station. The black fabric was just hung to make a fun little area. They sat on the floor to get their nails done.}
2 - hair & make-up {This stations was done using a Large piece of cardboard that I painted black and adhered 12 mirrors to and hung lights and garland on top. The marble table was perfect to dress up the area too.}
3 - decorate a notebook (Very creative girls!}
4 - photo shoot {they loved this part too and I could show LOTS of goofy pictures of them...they were crazy!!}

And here is me and the birthday girl. :)
