Computer crash!

That's right.
My computer crashed.
I guess a new something or other has been ordered for it so that is good.
My posting will be a bit interupted during this time.
I do have access to a computer but all my stuff is saved on MY computer so we'll see and if all that stuff is not there once it is fixed, um,
I will be very very........

I know that I get so inspired by so many blogs that I follow.

So, I as I sit here thinking I should go to's late...I think I'll grab a late night snack to celebrate.
How about some M & M's or maybe even some ice cream?
Mmmmm! :)

Flowers....of the paper kind I tried making some of these and really they ARE easy to make!
They turned out well too.
I even had my 5 year old niece cut one out.
These would be a great project to do if you are on a tight budget.
It only takes a 4 x 4 square to make a nice little flower.

Beautiful lanterns

I'm really liking the lantern with all the flowers attached here.
It looks easy to do and it's unique which is cool. :)
I have several white lanterns that my niece is thinking about using at her Wedding Reception.
I wonder what she would think of this idea.

You can find the instructions at Crafty Nest.

Roaring 20's Party

I just realized that I have not posted the pictures from the Roaring 20's party I helped with.
I know I gave a sneak peak...but here's much more.
First of all, we had this the very end of November when it was FREEZING cold outside!
Bad idea!
We did run a couple of heaters which helped.
Oh...we held this party in an unheated shed that is suppose to be used for machinery, not people. :)

A few photos...........

We covered all of the walls with black plastic and a scene setter I bought from Party City. Covering the walls was alot of work, but it gave the room a warm feeling to it.
Certainly what we needed in a cold shed.
There was a photo shoot area which was fun.
The lighting was so bad that I know my daughter had alot of trouble getting a good picture...but as usuale, we made her take them anyway.
We said they'd be just fine.
She IS smarter than us though.
We hung lights and the ever so cool chandeliers I bought at Party City after Halloween and got them for like 75%off!
When I saw them in the store there was NO hesitation as to "if" I should buy them...I took all 3 left.

Here is my sister in law and brother.
She was the one who wanted the party, invited all her friends, and did most of the work getting things ready.
We served appetizers which went over very well.
You can see one of the chandeliers sitting on this table.
The centerpieces were glass vases that I covered with a silver mess and filled with clear marbles. And of course stuck the feathers in.
They sat on old records in the center of the tables.
We had lots of candles everywhere.
We did a murder mystery which was alot of fun. Here is the scene from that.

Although we were dissapointed that many could not join us that night, we are glad the party happened and plan to have another one this next fall....(right, Billie Jo???).

I think this is such a clever idea to adding height to your buffet table!
It is simply a glass bowl that has been covered with scrapbook paper.
Idea was orginally posted on Simple Living, however I found it on Be Different, Act Normal Blog
She even suggests using those square glass blocks.
I'm thinking this is something I could use for Destiny's Wedding at the Candy Buffet.

Wooden Table Runner

Have you ever thought of this??
I have used fabric, crepe paper and even a mirror for a runner, but never a piece of wood! Totally loving this!

Garland dots

Just wanted to share yet another garland.
This one made out of dots.
I dont' really have any of the details on the how to's...but pretty sure it's not too hard to do.
It really adds alot to the front of this display.
Imagine it hung from the ceiling! :)
So go ahead.........start cutting out those dots!
Oh....the craft table that this lovely garland adorns if from
Biggs & Featherbelle
which is a unique online store selling health conscious body care products.
Although I've not tried their products....they sure do look tempting.

Photo candles

Need a cool idea to personalize a votive holder?
Try these! :) I LOVE it when a party is personalized and this would certainly do just that.
You can use just about anything....doesn't have to be picture.
Try a quote or a letter, maybe even a child's artwork.
Head over to Inspired Ideas for the directions.

Ribbon or fabric garland

This garland would be easy to make.
Just cut to size and attach it to your string.
You could use a bit of glue, iron on tape or even quick sew.
Very inexpensive and I bet it would make a BIG impact on a room! from Once Wed

A snowstorm...of the paper kind!

Another great idea from!
This is just made out of floss and 1" sticky labels.
So cool!
Again, this is a snowy winter themed idea, and for those of you who don't ever get to have snow where you live, you might really enjoy seeing this hanging in your windows,
you could use any colors and hang this fantastic "garland" from the ceilings or anywhere for any party and it doesn't have to look like snow at all!! YAY!!
I love versatile things. :)

And....HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY today to my niece Destiny!!

More Garland

I know that Christmas is over, but this is just too good not to share and you can maybe save it for next year
I have a great idea..........instead of just using white papers, use any colors you are using in a party and hang it from the ceiling or around a table...anywhere at the party.
Who says it has to be just on a tree??
For easy directions go to and you can begin making your garland for the next Christmas OR your next party of any kind. :)
Thank to my daughter Amy for finding this great idea.
