Wednesday's Parties {The Farm}

Who doesn't love a good ole' farm party?
This one, found on The Celebration Shoppe is just so cute.
The colors Red, Denim Blue and Yellow are just perfect together.
Really loving those marbleized containers too.
They've taken grown up items and made them work perfectly for a little guy.
Check out the denim placemats. For more pictures visit The Celebration Shoppe.
Also at the shoppe are some fantastic food ideas for the farm theme.
Yee-Haw!

Friday Food {Funky Lunch}

I've been seeing these great sandwiches around the blog world for a while and I just recently read up on what they are all about.

"Funky Lunchwas born out of the desire to turn an ordinary lunchtime sandwich into something a bit different to encourage children to try and eat a varied and healthy lunch."

What a great idea! I mean...don't you like your food to be presented well?
I think kids are the same way so why not make it fun for them too. :)
Funky Lunch is coming out with a new cookbook of sorts to show you just how and what you can make with foods to make it fun.

Tuesday's DIY & Tutorials {Banner}

This banner would be a really cool addition to your party.
It would be very simple to make, especially using a cricut!

Here's the Tutorial....but to see more pictures visit Once Wed.

Step 1: Making your templates
Print out the letters needed for your sign (this is purely if you need help with the shape of the letter!). If you are confident in your own handwriting, draw your own letters, as this makes the sign more unique to you! You will need to cut out the letter
templates to trace as well.

Step 2: Make your letters
On the printed paper, trace the letter templates you have made or draw your ownletters. Mix and match the patterned paper and lettering, and you can also combine upper and lower case lettering! Cut out each letter and erase any left over pencil
markings.

Step 3: Hanging your sign
Hang the string, you can tie it on to a pre-existing feature, or you can push two small pins into the wall. Clip the letters to the twine with the mini clothespins and you’re finished!

Monday's Favors {Bride and Groom}

Here is a great idea for a Wedding Favor you could even DIY.
You could either make or buy the biscotti and then decorate just like the bride and groom,
wrap in a clear bag,
tie a cute tag onto it and there you go.

They are also for sale all finished at
Memories in Chocolate

if you prefer to take the easy way out. :)

Friday Food {Chocolate Chip Banana Bread}

I really like Banana Bread and what else are you going to do with those brown bananas anyway. But there is one thing I love even more that Banana Bread.........
it's Banana Bread WITH chocolate chips in it of course! :)
So when I found this recipe at Vale Design I knew I had to share it with you.
I haven't had a chance to try out the recipe, but I do intend to.
Maybe you'll beat me to it.

It would be great for a Monkey themed party for sure.

You can also find many great printables, diy projects and other great recipes on her site too.

Thursday's Etsy {psitsinthedetail}

My favorite season is fall!
I love the changing colors, the crisp air and the smells of fall.
I can hardly wait to decorate my home this time of the year.
Pumpkins, twigs, leaves, and apples.
So pretty.

Today I am sharing this Etsy seller:
psitsinthedetail
She is selling so many cool items.
One of my favorite happens to be these fall leaves.
These would be so pretty attached to twine and made into a banner. I love her packing too! But if your not into them....I am pretty sure there will be something else that will interest you. AND I've had the chance to correspond with her and she is super nice!

Tuesday's DIY & Tutorials {Centerpieces}

Today's diy/tutorial is from my DIY Wedding day.
It's a great way to fancy up a plain glass cylinder vase.
The possiblities are really endless with this sort of look.

This picture is from a wedding I attended this summer.
The paper around the vase is a flocked scrapbook paper.
The glass did not show at all and was just used as a base and a container to hold the water for the live flowers.
It really was beautiful.
(Sorry I do not seem to have a close up picture). Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway here!
There IS chocolate involved. :)

Sunday Wedding {Countdown Paper Chains}

Yep, Sunday's will be my posts always about Weddings. :)

You've probably made something like this in grade school.
My son used to have one at his school that was a prayer chain and went around the room several times.
This one called Big Day Chain is used as a countdown for your Wedding Day.
The papers are designed by Kristin Adams. If you visit Junebug there is a special offer on these papers through the month of September.

Don't forget to enter my Giveaway. :)

First Giveaway!! Yay!

I'm alittle excited for a couple of reasons.
First ~ I am starting a new plan for my blog which I explained yesterday.
Second ~ I now have 59 followers....seriously never thought I'd have that many people interested in my blog.
Third ~ I'm having a giveaway....right here, right now! :)

I debated about WHAT should I give?
I looked and looked and finally I decided upon this Pumpkin
(it's wooden and about 6 or so inches tall, but it looks really small in the picture)
because Fall is my favorite time of year and then I could not do a giveaway
(my first one anyway)
without adding some chocolate (my favorite thing ALL year) to the loot.
SO..........here's a picture. :)
and this is what you do to win.

1 ~ Just simply comment.
2 ~ Follow me, and let me know by another comment.
3 ~ Blog about this Fantastic giveaway (there IS chocolate you know!), on your own blog, and let me know by another comment.

That's it.....I hope you win. :)
Oh, giveaway ends on Wednesday, Sept. 16
and I will just use Random.org to pick the winner.

Something New...and organized??

I just love sharing things I find and things I do with others because I get SO MUCH inspiration from other blogs too.
Sharing is good, right! :)
I've decided to
change my blog

just a bit and do a
specific feature each day
.
It might help me have better posts.
It could help me be more organized...hmmm that'd be great!
It might help others look forward to specific topic posts.
We'll see.
I'll try it.
I'll see how I like it.
I'll see if you like it. :)
I do have 58 followers....58 which makes me smile like crazy!! :)
And I know, I need to do a giveaway.
So stay tuned...........
it all starts this Sunday with a Wedding themed post.
Not gonna tell you what is on Monday or Tuesday,
kinda want to keep you in suspense......
ha ha.

a song,
a poem or even
bride and groom names! You can buy yours from Ormolu.
Or maybe even give it a try yourself.

Recipe for Strawberry candy

Shelly from Design Party Concepts asked how I made the Coconut Strawberries for my Strawberry Shortcake Party so........here's the recipe. :)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 sm. boxes strawberry Jell-O
1 (14 oz.) pkg. coconutMix and form into shapes of strawberries.
Roll in red sugar and put a green icing stem on top.
Chill.

For oranges - use orange Jell-O.

For lemons - use lemon Jell-O.

Just a note: For the green stem I used green candy melts and they worked very well.

Wedding Inspiration

My niece is getting married next summer and guess who gets to do the decorating! :)
Here is one of the first pictures she sent my way of something she likes.
And the inspiration board she loves.
Her colors are bright pink and gold.
Very elegant is what she wants.
I'll try my best.
She is a fancy girl....no rustic for her. :)
Her wedding will be outdoors at her parents farm with the reception being in one of the sheds.
I love the look of this picture.
Might soften up the look of the shed. Not sure how it would work and of course I'd have to stick with the pinks and golds for color. We've been looking alot for ideas and one thing that has us a bit stumped is the favors.
The one thing that she and her fiance love doing together is watching movies.
I am not sure how to bring a movie favor into an elegant theme.
Any ideas would be great!
And I am sure I will have more questions for my wonderful readers. :)
Like....where can I buy inexpensive votive or tea light candle holders in gold?
